Who runs this site
Porto Planner is an independent route planner for the Porto metro. It is not affiliated with Metro do Porto or Andante. Contact: porto.planner@gmail.com.
The short version
No accounts, no analytics, no advertising cookies. We don't build a profile of you. The few things that are processed are listed below.
Hosting
The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and the pages you request in order to deliver them and protect the site from abuse, and keeps short-lived technical logs for troubleshooting. A page address can include what you typed in the search box. Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Your searches
What you type is read on our server to find the two stations. If it can't be read automatically, it is sent to Anthropic's Claude to identify the stations. We record only which stations were chosen and what the request cost, not your text. Anthropic's privacy policy.
Bot check and limits
Before a search goes to Claude, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you're not a bot. To keep costs under control we count assistant searches per IP address; the address is stored only as a one-way code that changes every day, and these counts are deleted after 24 hours.
Cookies
One strictly necessary cookie, pp_pass, is set after you pass the bot check, so you aren't asked again for 12 hours. It contains no personal data and isn't used for tracking. No other cookies, and nothing is kept in your browser's storage.
Your location
If you use "Use my location" or the map's locate button, your browser shares your position with the page only after asking you. It is used inside your browser to find the nearest station and is never sent to us.
Maps
When a map is shown, your browser loads the map software from jsDelivr and the map images from OpenFreeMap. Like any website, these services receive your IP address. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Because we keep almost nothing that identifies you, most requests can be answered quickly: write to porto.planner@gmail.com.
Timetables and accuracy
Times come from Metro do Porto's published timetable, not live tracking, and fares from its published fare data. Trains can run early or late and timetables can change: check on-site information before you travel. Porto Planner is provided as is, without guarantees.
